DEVIL FRUITS



A Devil Fruit, after being consumed, gives the consumer a superpower or special trait, which they will soon become aware of; a person who has eaten a Devil Fruit and gained its powers is known as a Devil Fruit User (能力者 Nōryoku-sha?, lit. "Power User" or "Esper") There are more than 100 different Devil Fruits in the world, but only one of each Devil Fruit exists. Additionally, all Devil Fruits are known to taste very bad and cause the consumer to permanently lose their ability to swim.

Only one bite is needed for the user to gain the power of the Devil Fruit, after which the Devil Fruit becomes a simple, useless, disgusting fruit. Despite this, the majority of those who have consumed a Devil Fruit have eaten the entire Fruit, as they are apparently unaware of this fact. Furthermore, the consumer gains the powers and drawbacks of the Fruit immediately after the Fruit is swallowed, without needing to wait for the fruit to digest.

With over a hundred known devil fruits we will only cover some of the most notable from the anime series.

Paramecia

The most common of the three devil fruit types. Paramecia-type devil fruits grant their users superhuman powers other than being able to turn into animals or natural elements.

The fruit was first thought to turn its user into a rubber human. Later on in the series it is revealed that it is actually a Mythical Zoan-type fruit that allows the user to transform into the legendary Sun God Nika and gain his attributes, namely a body with the properties of rubber.

The fruit allows the user to replicate and sprout pieces of their body on any surface living and non living.

The fruit enhances the users soul to the point that they resurrect after their first death allowing them to live a second time and to use several other soul based abilities.

The user is bestowed with the power to generate and control white waffer thin, razor sharp strings seemingly attachable to any surface. Its current user is proficient enough to use it to control people similar to how puppeteers control their puppets.

The fruit allows the user to create magnetic forces and allows them to contol metal.

The fruit grants the ability to manifest and control shadows of living creatures, incuding their own, as physical and tangible forms. The user becoming The Ruler of Shadows, can steal the shadows of other beings an insert them into diferent bodies, living or dead, which in the latter case enables the creation of zombies.

Zoan

The users of the Zoan-type fruits gain the ability to transform into an animal, as well as transform into a hybrid form of their own species and that of the fruit.

Zoan devil fruits are said to have a will of their own. A recently discovered science allows Zoan fruits to be integrated into objects, bringing the object to life and granting it the standard Zoan transformations.

The fruit allows the user to transform into a human hybrid or a human at will. It was eaten by the raindeer Tony Tony Chopper turning him into a human raindeer.

This mythical Zoan-type allows the user to transform into a hybrid and full version of the mythical Japanese dragon Yamata no Orochi, an eight headed snake or dragon.

Logia

The rarest and most powerfull of the devil fruit types. Logia-type devil fruits allow their users to create, control and transform their body into a natural element such as fire, ice, lightning or darkness.

The fruit Grants its user the ability to create and manipulate darkness and its unique property of gravity at will. It is said to be the most terrible power and considered rare and unique even among the Logia-type fruits. The most frightning ability of this fruit is the power to nullify the powers of other devil fruit users simply by touching them.
